Netizens Ask Radhika Apte One Simple Question

Radhika Apte has once again sparked debate with her comments about working in Telugu cinema. She recently recalled an experience where she was asked to play a character who married her own uncle.

She also said she was paired with a much older hero and that her character was killed halfway through the film. Radhika connected these experiences to patriarchy in the film industry.

However, her comments have raised questions among some Telugu movie fans. They wonder why she accepted the film if she was uncomfortable with the story, her character or the hero’s age.

An actress usually hears the story and understands her role before signing a project.

Radhika has also acted in bold Bollywood films. Netizens now question why similar issues become a concern when they happen in Telugu cinema.

Radhika Apte has opened up about her experience working in Telugu cinema, revealing that she was asked to marry her own cousin in a film.

She also spoke about being paired opposite a much older actor and how her character was killed off halfway through the movie.

The film in question is Legend (2014), starring Nandamuri Balakrishna. But if she had a problem with the storyline or romancing an older actor, wouldn’t she have known about the script and the hero before signing the film?

She agreed to do the movie back then, yet is raising these issues years later while calling out patriarchy in the industry.
